I lie here looking up but not seeing
Wondering what I'm missing.,
For I'm lost with no oasis in which to go
I'm blind to the world that I live
Deaf to the sorrow that is here
And the scream that rips through me
Is nothing compared to the maelstrom?,
That is my soul.,
Touch is lost to me
For I am a void
Hear me, see me, and know me
I am you and you are me
We are parts of the same cloth
Yet we feel the same things
But in different ways.,
We live and die
For what we don't know
Just that we do
Knowing the sands of time
Will erode away the memory of us.,
In youth we don't care
For time has no meaning
Just the moment
In years that come to pass
Our perspective changes
Time grows shorter
With each passing day
Reflecting on the things we have or haven't done
Wondering what we would have done different
If we had the power to go back
But would we have learned
The lessons that life has given us
Only time could tell us
Will she speak, will we listen
Why do we do what we do?,
We act the way we do for what reason
Do we know or don't care
Life is filled with wonder
Yet we see thing through tinted glass
Colored by our own views
Freedom is what I seek
But I cannot cast aside the chains
My own hands put that on
Without your help
For we all are drifting in this sea of lost souls
You are the anchor in the turbulent ocean
The calming wind, The ray of Hope
For without you I would surly drown
Never to rise above the chaos.,
